AI Websites V2 — User Guide

This guide is for customers, agency partners, and other approved users who build and manage a website with AI Websites V2.

Last reviewed: September 30, 2026.

AI Websites V2 creates a complete website draft from verified business information, selected services and locations, brand settings, photos, and conversion goals. The draft can then be edited, previewed, checked for quality, connected to a domain, and published without writing code.

AI-generated content is a starting point. Before publishing, confirm every business fact, service description, location, price, offer, review, credential, warranty, availability claim, and legal statement.

Before you begin

Access requirements

You need:

  • A Launch365 account with Website Manager access.
  • Access to the correct company in Launch365.
  • Permission to use the company’s business information, website content, branding, and images.
  • Access to the company’s DNS provider if you will connect a custom domain.

After signing in, open AI Websites V2. A company without a V2 site opens the creation wizard. A company with an existing V2 site normally opens its latest site in the editor.

If you cannot open AI Websites V2, confirm that you selected the correct company and ask your Launch365 administrator to verify your Website Manager access.

Information to gather

Have the following ready when possible:

  • Existing website URL
  • Official business name, phone number, email, and address
  • Primary city and service-area cities
  • Services in priority order
  • License or certification details that may appear publicly
  • Approved rating, review count, years in business, and availability claims
  • Logo, favicon, and up to 10 representative photos
  • Social profile URLs and business hours
  • Preferred call to action, such as Book Online, Call Now, or Request an Estimate
  • Booking form or scheduler details
  • Brand colors, preferred tone, and example websites
  • Domain and DNS access for launch

Use approved source material. Do not enter confidential customer information or images you do not have permission to publish.

Create a website

The Creation wizard has 10 steps. You can move between steps to revise your choices before generating the draft.

Wizard changes are temporarily autosaved in the current browser. Generate the website draft before switching browsers or devices if you want the work saved to the company account.

1. Intake

Use Intake to start from an existing source:

  1. Enter the full existing website URL, including https://.
  2. Select Analyze Existing Site.
  3. Wait for the scan to finish.
  4. Review the Import review and the facts found by the scan.
  5. Correct anything that is incomplete or inaccurate in the later wizard steps.

If an approved Nexus profile is available, select Load from Nexus to use that information instead.

Only enable Ignore robots.txt restrictions for a website you own or are authorized to scan. This option does not grant permission to reuse third-party content.

2. Business

The Business step is the source of truth for the generated website and structured business data.

Review or enter:

  • Business name and industry
  • Primary phone and primary city
  • Service-area description
  • License information
  • Rating and review count
  • Years in business
  • Emergency availability
  • Primary audience and differentiator
  • Preferred proof source

Use the Business facts ledger to confirm the source of important facts. Keep verified values locked so AI can write around them without changing them.

Only select Availability claim confirmed when the emergency or after-hours claim is supported by approved business records. Regular opening hours do not automatically prove 24/7 or emergency availability.

3. Services

Add, enable, and arrange services and locations.

  • Put services in priority order. The first enabled service becomes the primary service and influences the homepage, imagery, and search focus.
  • Put cities in priority order. The first enabled city becomes the primary market.
  • Review any parent and child services imported from Nexus or the existing website.
  • Disable services or locations that should not receive dedicated pages.

Review the Service-area parent URL and City-page URL slug pattern before generation. Changing URL patterns after launch may require redirects to preserve existing links and search visibility.

4. Appearance

Choose the global design direction for the website:

  • Color palette or exact brand-color overrides
  • Content density and spacing
  • Corner radius and shadows
  • Header and hero style
  • Button, card, and section styles
  • Typography, when available

Use the desktop, tablet, and mobile preview controls to check the design at common screen sizes. Exact content and imagery can still be edited after generation.

5. Brand & Social

Add the identity and contact details shown throughout the site:

  • Logo
  • Favicon
  • Contact email and address
  • Financing link
  • Social profiles
  • Business hours

Enter business hours one line at a time in day: hours format, for example:

monday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
saturday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

For the favicon, upload or select an approved square image and use Generate ICO when needed.

6. Photos

Upload up to 10 JPG, PNG, GIF, or WebP images. Each image can be classified as:

  • Hero candidate
  • Service
  • Team
  • Vehicle
  • Project
  • Location
  • Gallery only
  • AI may choose
  • Do not use

Classification helps the generator place images appropriately. Use Do not use for imported images that should remain available for review but must not appear on the site.

Uploaded image files must be 5 MB or smaller. Use clear, high-resolution originals when possible, and avoid adding text directly to images unless it is part of the approved brand artwork.

7. Pages

Choose the initial page architecture.

  1. Enable the standard pages the website needs.
  2. Review pages generated from services and service areas.
  3. Review any imported pages and their assigned templates.
  4. If Local Video Engine city pages are available, select only the cities that belong on this website.
  5. Check the Architecture review for missing or conflicting choices.

The editor can add, remove, rename, reorder, or restructure pages later.

8. Conversion

Choose the website’s primary conversion path:

  • Primary goal: booking, phone calls, lead form, or estimate request
  • Main call-to-action label
  • Scheduler provider
  • BookSmart form, when used
  • Lead form, reviews, offers, and tracking modules
  • Optional English/Spanish website switch

If a live form or external scheduler is not ready, finish the draft with a placeholder and connect the final destination in the editor before publishing.

9. Optimization

Choose how the generator should balance content and optimization:

  • Balanced
  • Conversion first
  • Local SEO first
  • AIO/GEO first

You can also set creative freedom, formality, a preferred headline example, language to avoid, and reference websites.

Keep Locked facts enabled. AI may improve presentation and copy, but it should not invent or alter verified facts.

10. Review

Before generating:

  1. Read the plain-language generation brief.
  2. Edit the brief if the website needs a more specific direction.
  3. Review the readiness cards and preflight results.
  4. Resolve missing business, service, page, conversion, or image information when practical.
  5. Select Generate & Open Editor.

Use Generate Draft if you want to create the draft without immediately opening the editor. Generation can take time for a large site; do not submit the same website repeatedly while a generation is already running.

Use the website editor

The editor has a settings sidebar and a live preview. Changes appear in the editor preview, but they are not stored to the account until you select Save Draft.

Main controls

  • Save Draft stores the current draft.
  • Staging Preview · Saved Draft opens the latest saved version in a separate tab.
  • Live Website · Published opens the published site when the website is live.
  • Desktop and Mobile switch the editor preview width.
  • More options contains media, generation, redirects, sitemap, publish, unpublish, and other site actions.
  • Edit changes the active page.

Save before opening the staging preview if you want to see your newest changes there.

Editor workspaces

The main workspaces are:

  • Home — edit homepage sections and homepage-wide presentation.
  • Pages — create and edit interior pages.
  • Posts — manage the blog index and individual posts.
  • Authors — create reusable author and expert-reviewer profiles.
  • Menu — arrange navigation and add custom links.

The collapsed Setup & launch tools area contains:

  • Intake — imported website data and core business identity.
  • Site — site-wide header, footer, language, and interior-page presentation.
  • Design — colors, typography, spacing, buttons, cards, and section styling.
  • Convert — phone, calls to action, forms, schedulers, and widgets.
  • QA — site and page quality checks.
  • Optimize — SEO defaults, page briefs, improvement opportunities, and automation policy.
  • Connect — analytics, forms, reviews, local content, and integration status.
  • Launch — domain, SSL, releases, sitemap, and rollback.

Use the Basic/Advanced selector or Search settings when you need a setting that is not immediately visible.

Editing lock

The editor prevents two people from overwriting each other’s work.

  • Editing lock active means you can save changes.
  • Locked by [name] means another person currently controls editing.
  • Use Take Lock only after confirming the other person is finished or has agreed to hand off the site.

Edit pages and sections

Edit the homepage

  1. Open Home.
  2. Find the section you want to change.
  3. Open the section and choose Content or Style.
  4. Edit the copy, links, calls to action, images, lists, or presentation options.
  5. Review the live desktop and mobile previews.
  6. Select Save Draft.

For an inserted library section, you can reset it to library defaults, duplicate it, or remove it. For a generated core section, Clear Overrides returns its editable values to the generated defaults.

Add a section or recipe

  1. Open the page that needs the new content.
  2. Select Add Section.
  3. Use Sections to add one component, or Recipes to install a complete group of sections.
  4. Review the new section’s content, links, images, and style.
  5. Move it into the correct order.
  6. Save the draft.

A recipe adds independent sections to the page. After insertion, each section can be edited normally.

Do not publish demo claims or placeholder content. Sections that rely on proof—such as reviews, guarantees, rebates, pricing, project results, or emergency availability—must use verified information.

Edit an interior page

  1. Open Pages.
  2. Search or filter for the page.
  3. Select the page to open its focused editor.
  4. Review Page Basics:
    • Page title
    • Template
    • Slug
    • Status
    • Navigation visibility
  5. Edit the page sections under Content and Style.
  6. Review SEO:
    • Meta title
    • Meta description
    • Focus keyphrases
    • Social share image
    • Canonical URL
    • Sitemap and indexing settings
  7. Preview the page and save the draft.

Use Advanced page settings for parent-page hierarchy, the default menu location, and menu order.

Create or generate pages

From Pages:

  • Select New page to create one page manually.
  • Select Generate pages to create multiple planned pages.
  • Select Generate missing content when existing pages are present but required content is incomplete.
  • Select Bulk manager to review, reorder, or manage several pages.

Choose the correct template because it controls the starting sections available to that page. Available templates include standard, full width, service hub, service, service-area index, city, offer, second opinion, membership, careers, job posting, product, contact, blog, and legal pages.

Page statuses

  • Published — included when the website is published.
  • Draft — saved for continued work but not included on the public website.
  • Draft hidden — retained without appearing publicly.
  • Private — kept out of the public website.

Turning off Show in navigation keeps an eligible page out of menus; it does not delete the page.

Images and media

Use Browse Library to reuse an uploaded asset, Upload to add a new image, or Generate where AI image tools are available.

For every public image:

  • Confirm that the company has permission to use it.
  • Add concise, descriptive alt text.
  • Check the crop on desktop and mobile.
  • Avoid using an AI-generated image as evidence of a real employee, vehicle, office, project, certification, or customer result.

Manage posts, authors, and menus

Posts

Open Posts to:

  • Create a new post.
  • Edit the blog index.
  • Manage categories and tags.
  • Update article metadata, content, author, publish date, excerpt, and cover image.
  • Keep a post out of navigation while allowing it to appear in the blog and sitemap.

Verify time-sensitive advice, local claims, and technical information before publishing an article.

Authors and expert reviewers

Open Authors to create a reusable authority profile.

  1. Select New profile.
  2. Enter the person’s identity, role, biography, headshot, expertise, and verified credentials.
  3. Add external profile links when appropriate.
  4. Save the profile.
  5. Assign the profile to pages or posts as an author or expert reviewer.

Only create profiles for real people who have approved the public information. Do not invent credentials, employment relationships, awards, or reviews.

Open Menu to manage site navigation.

  • Add existing pages to the selected menu.
  • Add custom links for external booking pages, anchors, or utility destinations.
  • Drag items above, below, or inside another item.
  • Use up to three navigation levels.
  • Configure a mega menu on eligible primary items.

After changing page titles, slugs, templates, parents, or visibility, use Rebuild Header from Pages and review the result before saving. The rebuild preserves intentional custom links and explicit navigation labels where supported.

Configure forms and connected services

Calls to action and scheduling

Open Setup & launch tools → Convert.

  1. Confirm the primary phone number and booking CTA.
  2. Select the scheduler provider.
  3. For BookSmart, choose the correct form.
  4. For an external scheduler, enter its booking or embed URL.
  5. Test every header, hero, content, and final CTA in staging.

Do not publish with a placeholder form unless it is intentionally configured to collect and deliver leads.

Connected services

Open Setup & launch tools → Connect to review available integrations, including:

  • BookSmart forms
  • Google Business Profile reviews and rating data
  • Nearby Now
  • Local Video Engine and local content

Use Refresh statuses after a connection is changed elsewhere in Launch365. Use Sync reviews or Refresh local proof when the connected data appears outdated.

Integration availability depends on the company’s Launch365 setup. A setup or inactive badge means the feature needs configuration or is not enabled for the company.

Run quality checks

Run the quality gate after major changes and immediately before publishing.

  1. Save the draft.
  2. Open Setup & launch tools → QA.
  3. Select Run Quality Gate.
  4. Review site-wide and page-level results.
  5. Fix critical errors and relevant warnings.
  6. Run the quality gate again.

The quality score combines all evaluated checks:

  • Passing checks receive full credit.
  • Warnings receive partial credit and identify review or optimization work.
  • Errors receive no credit.

Warnings do not block draft saving or staging preview. Critical errors can block production publishing. Some issues can be repaired with AI, while factual claims may require manual verification.

Do not mark a manual check as verified until you have reviewed the supporting source. Publishing with acknowledged critical errors should be reserved for an authorized, documented exception.

Connect a custom domain

You may build and review the site on its staging URL before connecting a custom domain.

Save the domain

  1. Open Setup & launch tools → Launch.
  2. Find Domain & Publishing.
  3. Enter the Desired hostname, such as www.example.com or example.com.
  4. Choose the URL format. Keep trailing slashes when replacing a site whose indexed URLs already use them.
  5. Select Save Domain.

Add DNS records

Use the DNS target displayed inside the builder. At the time of setup:

  • For www, create a CNAME pointing to the displayed CNAME target.
  • For the root/apex domain, use the DNS provider’s ALIAS or ANAME feature pointing to the displayed target.

DNS interfaces differ by provider. Do not remove email, verification, or other unrelated DNS records. If the provider does not support the required root-domain record, ask the DNS provider or your Launch365 contact for guidance.

Verify DNS and SSL

  1. Return to the builder after saving the DNS changes.
  2. Select Verify DNS.
  3. If the result is pending, allow time for DNS changes to propagate and try again.
  4. After DNS is connected, select Request SSL.
  5. Wait for the SSL status to become active.
  6. Open the HTTPS website and test it before announcing the launch.

Website DNS is managed here. Email-sending domain settings are separate and should not be changed as part of the website connection unless specifically instructed.

Publish, update, and roll back

Publish for the first time

  1. Review the desktop and mobile previews.
  2. Select Save Draft.
  3. Open the saved staging preview and test pages, menus, forms, calls, links, and legal content.
  4. Run the quality gate and resolve critical issues.
  5. Confirm DNS and SSL if a custom domain is being used.
  6. Select Publish.
  7. Open Live Website · Published and complete a final test.

Publishing creates a versioned release snapshot.

Update a published website

  1. Make changes in the editor.
  2. Save the draft.
  3. Review the staging preview.
  4. Run QA for material changes.
  5. Select Publish to create a new release.

Saving a draft does not by itself update the published website.

Roll back

If a new release causes a problem:

  1. Open Setup & launch tools → Launch.
  2. Find Production Releases.
  3. Select Rollback.
  4. Confirm that the previous published version is restored.
  5. Open the live site and verify the affected pages.

Rollback restores a previous published snapshot. It does not replace careful review of the current draft.

Unpublish

Use More options → Unpublish to return a published website to draft status. Unpublishing removes the public site from normal availability, so use it only when authorized and necessary.

Manage redirects

Redirects preserve old links when URLs change or a website is migrated.

  1. Open More options → Redirects.
  2. Enter the old path under From, for example /old-service.
  3. Enter the replacement path or approved URL under To, for example /services/new-service.
  4. Choose:
    • 301 for a permanent move.
    • 302 for a temporary move.
  5. Keep the redirect active and select Add.

Use Bulk import for multiple redirects. Enter one redirect per line:

/old-path,/new-path,301
/temporary-page,/replacement-page,302

Redirects can be prepared before the domain is connected and will apply after launch. Avoid redirect chains and loops, and test important old URLs after publishing.

Troubleshooting

I cannot open the builder

  • Confirm that you are signed in.
  • Confirm that the correct company is selected.
  • Ask an administrator to verify Website Manager access.

The existing-site scan is incomplete

  • Confirm that the URL is public and includes https://.
  • Review the imported facts instead of assuming they are complete.
  • Enter missing business, service, location, and page information manually.
  • Do not bypass robots.txt restrictions without authorization.

My wizard changes disappeared

Wizard autosave is stored in the current browser. Return using the same browser and company. Generate the draft before moving to another browser or device.

My editor changes are not in staging

Select Save Draft, wait for the saved confirmation, and reload Staging Preview · Saved Draft.

My changes are not on the live website

Saving updates the draft only. Review staging, run QA, and select Publish to create a new live release.

I cannot save because the site is locked

Another editor is active. Coordinate with that person before selecting Take Lock.

An image will not upload

  • Confirm that it is a supported image file.
  • Keep the file at 5 MB or smaller.
  • Try exporting the image again as JPG, PNG, or WebP.
  • Confirm that your session has not expired.

A form or scheduler does not open

  • Confirm the provider and selected form under Convert.
  • Refresh connected-service statuses.
  • Test the exact CTA in staging.
  • Confirm that the external booking URL is public and correct.

DNS remains pending

  • Compare the DNS record with the exact target displayed by the builder.
  • Confirm whether you are connecting www or the root domain.
  • Check for conflicting records on the same hostname.
  • Allow time for DNS propagation, then select Verify DNS again.

Publishing is blocked

Open QA, review the critical errors, correct them, save, and run the quality gate again. Do not bypass critical errors unless an authorized owner accepts the risk.

Launch checklist

Before publishing, confirm:

  • Business name, address, phone, email, hours, and service areas are correct.
  • License, ratings, reviews, years in business, awards, and availability claims are verified.
  • Services and locations are complete and ordered correctly.
  • No placeholder, duplicated, or unsupported copy remains.
  • The logo, favicon, and images are approved and have useful alt text.
  • The header, footer, menus, and mobile navigation work.
  • Every page has the correct title, slug, status, and navigation visibility.
  • Important pages have appropriate meta titles, descriptions, and social images.
  • Forms, scheduling, phone links, and calls to action work from desktop and mobile.
  • Privacy, terms, consent, and other required legal content have been reviewed by the business.
  • Redirects from important old URLs are configured.
  • The quality gate has been run and critical errors are resolved.
  • The custom domain verifies and SSL is active, when applicable.
  • The saved staging site has been approved by the website owner.
  • The live website has been tested immediately after publishing.
